Citytrip Valencia : Bed and Breakfast ABCYou in Russafa

ABCYou Bed And Breakfast Valencia

Citytrip Valencia

Arabic influences in my bedroom with ocher and grey

Arabic influences in my bedroom with ocher and grey
// The use of colour is really important in my projects. I love to work with colour themes and I think that colour is an essential part in a design, styling or a photoshoot. A little while ago I posted often photo's on my blog in the Colours I see category. In this blogs I show colourpaletes next to a picture. In this way I think you get a good view on how colour works in a picture and also it gave the picture even more contrast. Today I like to share a new picture to add in this Colours I See series.

A week with Binti Home Studio #1

Binti Home Studio last week

In march last year I decided to focus for 100% on my business Binti Home. It still feels like it was the best decision I've made because I didn't stop working since this moment. I feel blessed that I can work on this gorgeous projects and to do what I love. In this new blogitem I want to post a update with snapshots from my workweek. It's like a small diary where I can look back now and then.

Folded lamp Boooom! by Marc de Groot

Last week I've posted a blog about some products I photographed at Design District. This beautiful new lamp Boooom! from Marc de Groot deserves it's own blog. Especially because I want to give some extra information about this lamp.

Designed by Marc de Groot inspired by the place where their studio is located, a former bomb craft. The lamp is also produced in it's own studio in Amsterdam. Originated from folding and assembling metal parts forming the pattern. This gives a sphere of light opening that creates the special light image in a space. The BOOOOM! get cut with the latest laser technology and then sanded directionless and can be possibly sprayed in a colour.

Update Binti Home Shop with my own textile collection

Goodmorning! On this thursday morning I have to give you an update about my Binti Home Shop. I've announced before that the shop with my own collection will go online at Sunday 20th of april. Unfortunatelly this wasn't possible because of the preparations of this shop. The complete collection is ready to be send but the webshop takes a bit more time, and because Im working on different photography and stylingprojects at the same time it's all about some good time management. So I will do my very very best and hope to get this Binti Home Shop online in some days. Ofcourse I will share this with you when the shop is online. Here I share another photo from my Binti Home Collection. Today some grey-green inspiration in a combination with a woven rug (100% wool) from Egypt and a beautiful vase from House Doctor. See you in the shop soon!

Sophisticated interior with darkblue and grey

A basic interior with a lot of whites and wood will have sophisticated atmosphere when you add some black. Black will give the room an elegant and chic look. People think black gives a big contrast and will be more suitable for an interior with industrial elements. But when you make the combination with dark blue and grey the black will be more softer and will connect all the colours together in the room. In this living room you can see my cushions in dark blue and grey made of 100% linen. This sunday my webshop Binti Home Shop will go live, countdown of 5 nights.

Conceptstore 33 rue Majorelle in Marrakech

So nice I can share these photo's with you I made from 33 Rue Majorelle in Marrakech. I visited this store during my holiday in Marrakech and fell in love with the style, the atmosphere and beautiful products. In front of the famous Majorelle gardens you can find this concept created by Monique Bresson. In this store you can find the designs of many Moroccan designers and brands. I love the combination of the industrial atmosphere and the traditional Moroccan style. You can also find a juicebar here called Kaowa where you can have a delicious smoothie and shop some beautiful kitchen accessoiries from Chabi Chic. A must visit when you're in Marrakech!

Stylish christmas at Accessorize your Home

In Flair magazine of last week you can find the beautiful home from Sandra from Accessorize your Home. This home is a mix of Scandinavian style, modern and dutch influences. I love the natural feeling of this home with the use of wood, green and graphics. Sandra knows exactly what she likes and her personal style at home reflects the style of her webshop as well. She runs her webshop with so much passion and joy and it's a real gift when you receive a package from Sandra at home. So, do you already know what you want for Christmas? Take a look at her webshop here!

Candles at home

The days are getting colder and I guess winter is really on it's way. Im not really a 'winter' person, I just adore the sun! But sometimes I can enjoy the dark days too where I can light my favourite candles and read some magazines in my all time favourite About a chair from Hay. I love to mix different candles together, for example these candles from Ontwerpduo, Sukha and Tierlantijn. The cushion in the chair is from Fest Amsterdam, I think it matches good with the grey chair. Wish you a lovely day!

Histor 101 karakters cabinet - Memories of the desert

Earlier I've annouched on this blog that I was really happy to paint one of the cabinets Piet Hein Eek designed for Histor's competition 101 karakters. I've blogged about my mood board before and my theme for this cabinet was Memories of the Desert. When I received the cabinet I felt totally in love with the simplicity of this cabinet, you can see the photo's here. For this competition I had to paint this cabinet with the Histor perfect finish. To choose the colours out of all those beautiful colours was a pleasure. I decided to work with the colours Loom, Lei and Ogenblik. But while I was painting this cabinet, I really loved the simplicity and neutral look of the colours Loom and Lei. So that's why I decided not to paint with Ogenblik anymore. I'd love to paint with these colours of Histor and Im really happy with the result. Tomorrow, saturday 9th of november, I will go to Piet Hein Eek in Eindhoven where I will meet the other bloggers who has also painted their cabinets. Also I will meet the winners who send their design for this competition. Maybe I see you tomorrow and wish you a lovely weekend!

My moodboard for 101 karakters competition by Histor and Piet Hein Eek

I think the 101 karakters competition from Histor and Piet Hein Eek is an inspiring challenge! This Wednesday I'll receive my limited edition cabinet designed by Piet Hein Eek, once in have it I can start painting! Today I've made my moodboard for this competition with the title Memories of the desert. Inspired by the life of the nomad where every day is another colourful journey, I will use the painting of Histor in the colours Lei, Loom and Ogenblik. I will use this cabinet to save and cherish memories from my daily life.  I wrote these lines to complete my moodboard for this competition:

Photography and styling with decorative materials from Drimensa

Drimensa is a company for decorative materials. A while ago they asked me if I would like to do the styling and photography for the inspiration photo's for their monthly business mailing. They want to show an inspiration moodboard where you see a table or desk where the architect is working with the materials from Drimensa. A really nice job where I was free to use the most beautiful materials from their collection. For this series I used materials like Smoked oak, a sheet with linen look from Egger and a concrete material from Imi Concrete. Next week I will start with styling and photographing a new moodboard consisting of other materials for their mailing which they will send out next month. You can sign up on the website from Drimensa for this monthly business mailing, which is especially interesting for architects, designers and stylists, but feel free to visit!

101 woonideeën woonbeurs 2013

Here i am again for today with another blogpost by sharing the house of 101 woonideeën at the interior fair Woonbeurs 2013. I think the style of this home is eclectic because of the combination of different styles like scandinavian design, etnic influences and vintage elements. I love the use of colour, the mix of plants and herbs, and the many nice styling ideas for your home they've displayed. Enjoy!

Preview at Ariadne at Home, VT Wonen and 101 woonideeën on the Woonbeurs

Yesterday i've also visited the houses from VT Wonen, Ariadne at Home and 101 woonideeën. I really like the different styles in these homes but also the various of settings.

This house has been styled by Marlies Does, stylist from Ariadne at home. I really love the calm atmosphere in this house where all colours tells a sophisticated french story. On the photo above you can see a good mix of vintage stools painted in Histor One's colours Organic Grey, Soft Lime and Pure White. These soft chairs are mixed with industrial stools from Nordal and Van Dijk & Ko. The beautiful Diamond shaped Hanging lamps above the kitchen are from Options. I think Marlies did a great job and I really like this style. Next week after the Woonbeurs I will post more photo's from this house on my blog.

VT Wonen Barn
Wauw! The house of VT Wonen this year is so different then the years before, it's a complete barn with two levels! On this setting above there are some good black furniture mixed with wood, different natural materials and green plants. The table is from Slowwood, the stools are from Ercol, Slowwood and AndTradition. The lamps above the table are from Vaandrager and Vroonland. You should visit them on the fair on the Designcity! I think the combination black, wood and green is working so good and sophisticated at the same time.

Maison et Objet 2013 : Muuto

After visiting the Ethnic Chic hall on Maison et Objet I went to hall 8 where some of my favourite Dutch and Danish design brands where located. To start with Muuto, when i walked to this stand the Unfold lamps in mint green directly catched my eyes. Wauw! I just love these new colours and Im already thinking about buying one of these lamps for my home office! Also the elevated vase looks great and will soon be displayed on my desk :)

The new 70/70 table, designed by TAF Architects, is available in four colours; white, grey, mint green and black. I love the new colour pallette Muuto is working with. The big Under the bell lamp looks also gorgeous, i would advice this in a future office project. Im curious what you think about this collection, what's your favourite item?
