Histor 101 karakters cabinet - Memories of the desert

Earlier I've annouched on this blog that I was really happy to paint one of the cabinets Piet Hein Eek designed for Histor's competition 101 karakters. I've blogged about my mood board before and my theme for this cabinet was Memories of the Desert. When I received the cabinet I felt totally in love with the simplicity of this cabinet, you can see the photo's here. For this competition I had to paint this cabinet with the Histor perfect finish. To choose the colours out of all those beautiful colours was a pleasure. I decided to work with the colours Loom, Lei and Ogenblik. But while I was painting this cabinet, I really loved the simplicity and neutral look of the colours Loom and Lei. So that's why I decided not to paint with Ogenblik anymore. I'd love to paint with these colours of Histor and Im really happy with the result. Tomorrow, saturday 9th of november, I will go to Piet Hein Eek in Eindhoven where I will meet the other bloggers who has also painted their cabinets. Also I will meet the winners who send their design for this competition. Maybe I see you tomorrow and wish you a lovely weekend!

Maison et Objet 2013: Zenza

The stand from Egyptian/dutch company Zenza on the Maison et Objet fair in Paris was mindblowing! I already knew the sweet people from Zenza because i've worked with them before, it was really nice to see them again. What a great job they did with an amazing styling and good atmosphere they've created with their products. Playing arabic music ( I almost started dancing right there), wearing chic clothes and having a big smile on their face. I really feel the passion on that moment and that's what a good brand is all about. Zenza has been creating handmade products with artisanal techniques for more than 18 years and their collection is still growing. I hope you'll get inspired by these photo's, let me know what you think!
