Binti Home Blog: Inspiring interior at restaurant Sequoia in Zamalek, Cairo

This might be a little bit a sunny picture for this time of the year, but when I feel the sunshine on my face today it made me remember of a place called Seqouia. Some weeks ago I was in Egypt and having a good time with some friends. In december it's a bit cold in Egypt, but you can't compare this to the Netherlands. We wen't to a really nice neighbourhood in Cairo called Zamelek where you can find the beautiful buildings of the old embassies, inspiring shops, creative artists and gorgeous restaurants next to the Nile. This time we went to Sequoia again, a really nice restaurant with good food and beautiful view over the Nile. I love the design of the restaurant, what they did with the tiles in the tables, the wooden planters and the coloured shutters on the wall and bar. It's like having a drink in a big bedouin tent. If you're in Cairo one day you definately has to visit this place. // Het is misschien een wat zonnig plaatje voor de tijd van het jaar. Maar toen ik vandaag de zonnestralen op mijn gezicht voelde herinnerde dat me aan Seqouia. Begin januari was ik nog in Egypte en had ik een fijne tijd met vriendinnen. In december en januari kan het wel koud zijn in Egypte, maar niet te vergelijken met Nederland. We zijn naar een hele fijne buurt geweest in Cairo, genaamd Zamalek. Hier vind je prachtige gebouwen van de oude ambassades, inspirerende winkels, creatief vakmanschap en leuke restaurants aan de Nijl. Deze keer zijn we weer naar Sequoia geweest, een restaurant waar je heerlijk kan eten met een uitzicht over de Nijl. Ik vind het interieur werkelijk prachtig, de tegeltjes in de tafels, de houten plantenbakken en de gekleurde shutters aan de wand en tegen de bar. Alsof je in een gigantische Bedoeïenentent bent met het grote linnen doek en industriële lampen. Als je in Cairo bent is dit zeker een bezoek waard!
